Ed has created a rod that gives the caster a boat load of “feedback”. This is the soul of a rod that lets you know through your hands when the rod is working for you. These rods feel lively when fighting a fish and light in hand for an enjoyable day on the water.
Their tapers have been designed to pleasantly accommodate both single-handed Spey/Skagit-type casts and two-handed Spey/Skagit-type casts. Whether you’re picking apart small to medium-sized rivers on foot swinging soft hackles, chucking big streamers, or casting big dry flies into the teeth of an afternoon breeze, these nifty little hybrid rods should have a permanent place in your quiver. The 9’9” #3 and 10’0″ #4 both have cigar-style single-welled upper grips and switch-style lower handles, while the 10’4” #5 has a grip/handle configuration like the Pure Skagit Rod style as outlined in the next section.
Represented by a 10’8” 6wt, an 11’ 7wt, an 11’6’ 8wt, and a 12’3” 9wt, they depart from the Micro Series in a couple of ways. First, the upper grips are double-welled and thus more aligned with contemporary two-handed rods under 12’, while the lower handles remain switch-style. Also, these rods are faster than the Micro series, being a true medium-fast action that casts off of the upper third of the taper. This type of taper loads very well during the sweep phase of the Spey/Skagit casting sequence and also helps maintain that load into the forward cast, yet still yields a very crisp final delivery. This rod line-up is targeted toward the fishing of large Trout and Sea-trout, Steelhead, Atlantic Salmon and Kings.

The OPST Micro Skagit Rods come in line weights #3 – #5 and make a perfect setup when fishing for trout and sea trout. The Pure Skagit Two-Hand Rods come in line weight #6 – #9 and are ready to rock with Atlantic salmon, steelhead or kings.
All rods have a matt Anthrazit finish and are equipped with recoils and recoil stripping guides with inserts. All rods are 4 piece and come in a rod tube.

All ECHO rods are covered by their policy over the natural life of the product for the original owner at the discretion of Rajeff Sports. Rods that are determined to be damaged by abuse or neglect, either by physical or environmental factors (saltwater, mold, etc) are not covered by ECHO’s warranty policy.
If your rod breaks, ECHO will repair or replace your rod for a service fee (fee level differs by rod model) while the rod is a currently produced model and repairable. If your rod is a discontinued model and is not repairable, you will be offered a current equivalent replacement model at 50% off the RRP.
Most current production models will have replacement tips available for purchase through the contact form.

ECHO understands that every situation is unique and strive to stand by their products and guarantee quality, performance and reliability. Accidents happen, and ECHO wants you to have options to get back on the water. Quality control and manufacturing inconsistencies also happen, though rarely, and ECHO wants to make sure they do everything in their power to get them corrected.
